A World of Contrasts

A Black and White Issue

Great for Media Studies and to tie in with texts examining racial issues.

Leaving Cert (LC from now on!) think about the impact of this picture: the framing and contrast between the “shiny happy people” depicted enjoying the  “American Way” and the stark reality of the bread line in front. Does it make a difference being in black and white rather than colour?

Note also how the car seems to be “driving over” the people in the breadline.
